Position Overview

The Solution Consultant at harpin AI is a dynamic hybrid role blending client-facing sales, technical expertise, creative solution design, business case development, and project coordination, expertise to support, accelerate, and drive the technical aspects of the sales process.  The Solution Consultant is involved from the early stages of the sales process through deal closure in partnership with Sales and other internal resources. You will serve as the critical technical bridge between our prospect and our internal resources to ensure deals progress and close as smoothly and quickly as possible while ensuring the foundation for a long-term and successful relationship is built between harpin AI and our prospects.

This role demands a curious and consultative mindset, technical acumen in data management, an understanding of AI capabilities, and the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external technical stakeholders in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. You’ll work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and real-world business outcomes—helping prospects understand how harpin AI delivers positive business outcomes and ROI across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience via data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

Client Discovery & Requirements Gathering

  • Lead business and technical discovery process with prospects to deeply understand their business challenges and how they can be addressed by the harpin AI team and tools.
  • Partner with harpin AI Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to translate customer needs into demonstrable solutions with clear ROI.
  • Document business objectives, proposed technical approach, and alignment with harpin AI’s capabilities. 
  • Assess data quality issues, systems integration needs, and use case requirements to scope appropriate POC solutions.

Technical Demonstrations & Value Storytelling

  • Deliver compelling demos, workshops, and presentations that highlight how harpin AI’s solutions solve critical business problems and drive business results.
  • Articulate technical concepts and capabilities to diverse audiences—from C-level executives to technical teams—using storytelling, documentation, real-world use cases, and business results.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Collaborate with internal teams to help design solutions that showcase harpin AI’s technology and toolset capabilities, including data management, actionable insights, data exploration, and activation across multi-channel ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external business stakeholders to define success metrics, ROI narratives, and measurable outcomes that demonstrate value (e.g., increased sales, stronger loyalty, enhanced customer lifetime value).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Sales teams to gather and provide prospect feedback on opportunities for solution enhancements to our product roadmap.
  • Coordinate proposal development and RFP/RFI responses while helping to develop reusable assets like architecture diagrams, case studies, ROI models, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Solution Engineering to ensure our POC initiatives, timelines, resources, and deliverables are successful and lead to signed client contracts.

Market Intelligence & Innovation

  • Stay current on trends in customer data platforms (CDPs), identity resolution technologies, AI/ML advancements, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and 
  • competitive landscapes.
  • Provide field-gathered competitive intelligence and market feedback to inform go-to-market strategies and product positioning.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in pre-sales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting roles within SaaS, AI/ML, or data platforms—ideally in CDP, identity resolution, marketing technology, or data quality spaces.
  • Strong technical foundation and continuing desire to grow their knowledge in data engineering, AI/ML concepts (e.g., machine learning for identity resolution, graph-based matching, probabilistic algorithms), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and integration tools (APIs, ETL pipelines, data connectors).
  • Data query (SQL, Python, etc.) data transport, ETL, data access, and related skills. 
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence executives and technical teams.  Experience in objection handling, consultative selling, and value-based solution design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for client meetings, industry events, and on-site POC support.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with data management and exploration tools.
  • Familiarity with CDPs (e.g., Segment, Treasure Data, Tealium, etc.), CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), or data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
  • Technical certifications such as PMP, TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, or Azure Data Engineer.
  • Background in customer-facing roles within B2B technology, with specific focus on retail, hospitality, finance, or e-commerce verticals where identity resolution is critical.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to articulate ROI, cost savings, and efficiency gains tied to improved data quality and identity resolution.
  • Executive presence and ability to build trust with C-level stakeholders, including CIOs, CDOs, CROs, CMOs, and CFOs.
  • Professional experience using AI assistance tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot.
